Thanksgiving schedule

There will be no classes on Thursday 11/28 – Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Normal schedule on Wed, Fri and Sat. And remember that there will be rehearsals on Tue 11/26 at 5:45 pm (for Clara, “mice”, “butterflies”) and on Sat 11/30 at 11:00 am (for everyone).

2013 Summer Intensive

This year, we will have our Summer Intensive in the month of July. We will learn repertoire from classical ballets and work on Vaganova technique. Also included are floor barre classes and the study of ballet history.

The week of July 1st, the Intensive will be for children ages 7 through 12; the classes will be Mon-Fri from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm. The cost will be $85 for the week per child.

The weeks of July 8, 15, 22, the Intensive will be for ages 12 through 20; the classes will be Mon-Fri from 11:00 am till 2:30 pm. The cost will be $110 per week per person.

If you would like to participate, please send us an email with the student’s name and age, and the week(s) to be attended. To register, please write a check (one per student) to “Inna Ballet” for the total amount and send it to our address (or give it in person). Please register early, to guarantee your spot. There will only be 20 spots available in each Intensive.

Throughout July, we will also have the following regular classes:
Kids Ballet, from 11:00 till 11:30 am, on Sat;
Adult Ballet Beginners, from 6:00 till 7:15 pm on Tue and Thu, and from 12:00 till 1:15 pm on Sat;
Adult Ballet Intermediate, from 6:00 till 7:30 pm on Mon and Wed, and from 2:30 till 4:00 pm on Sat;
Barre on the Floor, from 1:15 till 2:30 pm on Sat.

Spring 2013 Recital

Announcement: Our Spring 2013 Recital is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm on Sunday May 19, 2013, at the school location. (Note the new date.)
The program for the Recital is as follows:

1. Guests’ dance at the Capulet ball from the ballet “Romeo and Juliet”; music by Sergei Prokofiev.

2. Princess Florina’s variation from the ballet “Sleeping Beauty”; music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

3. Variation “Work” from the ballet “Coppelia”; music by Leo Delibes.

4. Lise’s variation from the ballet “La Fille Mal Gardee”; music by Peter Ludwig Hertel.

5. Nikiya’s variation from the ballet “La Bayadere”; music by Ludwig Minkus.

6. Trio Odalisques from the ballet “Scheherazade” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

7. Pearls’ variation from the Ballet “The Little Humpbacked Horse”; music by Cesare Pugni.

8. Gypsy dance from the ballet “Don Quixote”; music by Ludwig Minkus.

9. Russian dance from the ballet “Swan Lake”; music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

All dances will be performed by students of our school. Family and friends are welcome to attend the event. Other interested parties please inquire before attending. (Note that we are open to the possibility of an encore performance at a different location. Please contact us if you have a suggestion.)

Ribbon Cutting 1/9/2013

We thank once again everyone who participated in Inna Ballet’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony that was held on January 9, 2013. This event was announced by Mayor Thomas S. Richards at the City of Rochester website. Commissioner R. Carlos Carballada of the City’s Department of Neighborhood and Business Development spoke at the event, presented Inna Ballet with a commemorative plaque, and tested the height and quality of the ballet barres. Thad Schofield, Project Manager of Economic Development at City of Rochester, and Josh Jensen, Director of Community Affairs at the office of NYS Senator Joseph E. Robach, also wished Inna Ballet to grow and be an asset to the community. Special thanks are to the Rochester’s News 10 NBC for showing the event on the news, and to city photographer Ira Srole for creating memorable pictures.

Happy New Year 2013 to all of you!
The classes are now back in session (please check the updated Schedule). Also note that on Wednesday, January 9th, at 11:00 am we will have an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Inna Ballet at the new location in Rochester. Everyone is welcome to come! We are looking forward to the new year, new students, new performances!

2012 Summer Ballet Camp

NEW: announcing two more weeks of the Ballet Camp in August!!!

Everyone who came in July, as well as anyone else who would like to participate, is welcome to come!!! We are going to learn new dances/variations from Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Coppelia.

1st week: 8/13-8/17, 2-5pm
2nd week: 8/20-8/24, 2-5pm

The prices are 95.00 per week (due Monday) or 30.00 per day.
